Handheld Game Console
One of the first major design projects at KTH was to develop a handheld game console in collaboration with KTH Innovation. The target group was girls aged 8-16 and the goal with the design was to allow this group to be creative while discovering coding and tech at their own pace. A familiar and colourful form language was used to make the console feel intuitive and approachable.
One of the main points with the design was the ability to customize the case by simply inserting a photo, a drawing, a dried leaf or anything else that fit in the designated slots. This was done not only to inspire creativity, familiarity and ownership, but also to ensure a more environmentally sustainable product without the need for manufacturing new cases.
